I partially agree with you. It would be better to have MediaInfos. But they have trump rules. They don't allow more than one encode for each resolution. Encodes with higher quality can trump lower quality. Of course, screenshots must be provided so that the mods don't have to download the encodes to make the comparison. So it's not that hard to judge which one is better.
AHD and PTP on the other hand have so called Golden Torrents because they allow more than one encode for each resolution. The mark of Golden Torrent can tell people which one has the best quality.
