Hi,

I recently got onto What.CD, and purchased a seedbox. I understand you are not allowed to share torrent files from what.cd.

How does this work when i get the torrent file, then add it into my client on the seedbox? will What.cd think i have shared this file as the IP downloading/seeding it is my seedbox and not my home connection?(different ip)

i know very noob question, but i am new to this, thanks

Don't worry at all. You're not allowed to share means you can't upload the exact .torrent file you grabbed from them to other sites.

And different IP won't harm. They only catch you when multiple accounts are registered from same IP.

This is the short answer. Need more clarification ?

One other question though, how does what.cd know that it is my account seeding the file to credit my account the with the upload? as i am uploading/seeding from the seedbox and not my ip?

Every private tracker will know what you download/upload. When you register,you're given a PID (Personal ID) - some call it Pass key/UID.

This PID is found in profile/settings.

When you download a torrent,your PID gets included in that torrent so whatever you download/upload,the site knows it.

And each user has unique PID,so never reveal your PID to anyone. Tried to answer simply but if you've got questions,I would gladly help.

@Shady1985 also have in mind that some private trackers state in their Rules that you need to PM a staff member the Seedbox IP before you start using it or else you might be disabled. Not sure what WCD rules are, but i would suggest to PM a staff member with the seedbox IP to be on the safe side.

I contacted staff, they do not need to know the IP address of my seedbox, thank you guys for your help, i am very grateful.
