I am using a VPN to secure my IP address on Tracker Sites and to encrypt my data of ebooks, I have already. I would like to use a Seed Box to make Tracker Sites feel more safe with me and to help my ratio. I was wondering. With the stuff I already have, do I need to have a VPN at first to upload the stuff to a VPS Server? Are can I connect to that VPS Server with my own IP address? Then get an encryption software to transfer the stuff to the VPS Server. Then setup the VPS to seed to all the Tracker Sites with the Hash Files set up on it? Then log off and let it fly. Are do I need that VPN at first with the encryption tunnel to get things started. Then stop the VPN service in a month. Continue paying for the VPS Server, for server months to a year? Then after I get the things I need. Then get the VPN service again for a month to move the files to my computer?

First a lot of trackers (inc. Torrent Invites) will ban you if you connect using a VPN so be careful. If you are intending to continue seeding your current ebooks from your home PC then yes you will need to move those file (ebooks file and the associated ebook.torrent file) up to you VPS server. The easiest way to do this is using SFTP which almost all seedbox providers support and is an encrypted file transfer method. The program Filezilla is most commonly used as it’s free and available on Windows and Linux platforms. The trick is to place the ebooks files into the correct data directory and the associated .torrent file into the torrents directory on your VPS server. It would depend on the seedbox provider as to the exact names and locations but typically the directories are called Data and Torrent.

I would move one torrent to start with and confirm you have it working before you move the rest over. Once you are happy its working you can cancel your VPN. You could also download a new torrent on you VPS and confirm the location it places the data and the .torrent file so you will know for sure.

Also almost all seedboxes allow you to make a VPN connection to the seedbox (typically using Openvpn client for an IPSec tunnel). This means all you traffic (web browser etc.) now appears to come from your seedbox. With the VPN establish you can use plain FTP to transfer your files as you already have an encrypted connection (you could also use SFTP if your paranoid which would be double encryption).

Also do some research before choosing a VPS or physical Seedbox server provider as some are very poor. See if you can get feedback from current users.
