How do you play HD-movies?

i'm using MPC HC with klite codec updated, it's the best for my opinion

Try MPV. Quite possibly the most customizable option with low overhead. It's open source, keyboard friendly, and the UI gets out of your way. VLC's playback UI is so big and annoying and it pulls you out of watching movies.

Currently VLC, in the near future will try MPV.

As many said VLC works really well, but i gotta say i find myself Dumping everything on the server and playing it thru Plex

I play movies through Kodi or Plex, with my movies sitting on my NAS, and movies played via Chromecast, or Nvidia Shields.

You mean there is another besides VLC? Why? LOL

Strictly Kodi or Plex as others have mentioned. I am a sucker for flashy Frontends and GUI's.

I use VLC on my computer, but 99% of the time I'm at my computer, I'm working. When I watch movies or TV, I cast with Airflow to Chromecast Ultra on a 65" 4k.

I bought a bananapi, but it seems to slow for hevc. oh, well..

i use PotPlayer

MPC for life, it's a shame that developers left it hanging but it's still the fastest one out there and ahs never failed me

MPC-HCx64 player and Zoom player work great with no issues on my PC.

The new builds of MPC-HC, though I am internally divided on moving to MPV.

...I have .iso or BDMV mainly for them, on my PC I use VLC or PowerDVD, on my Vero4K+ I use Kodi (mainly for 3D MVC isos), XBOX One + Kodi (the only way to play isos and folders on the xbox)

VLC, but mostly just because it requires almost not configuration after install and I have muscle memory for it's keyboard shortcuts.
K-Lite whenever VLC fails me. It's great, but requires some configuration for the best result, which I don't know and always have to look up guide on the net.
