I use the Windows Media Player Classic that comes with K-Lite codec ... it has a lot of options, simple and fits my needs =)

K-Lite codec pack but always Haali splitter disabled. LAV Spllitter better

I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema and Core AVC. I never had problems or cpu issues^^

I usually use XBMC or VLC. I have a few older computers connected to TVs and sometimes VLC playback is choppy. Switching to XBMC always does the trick.

I use MPC. I hate VLC, not quite sure why.

Before that I used WMP 6.4.

I like the classic look. I even run Windows in classic mode still
