    Cool Fave War Movies

Add the year and a imdb link for everyone to read up on them. The goal is to open our eyes to many generations of the wars that have happened in real life. We are looking to make a list of military wars/battles non of that super hero kind of deal, but does not have to be a biography type. Post best first. Throw in some wording if you would like, saying something about the movie you like or anything random

    1. Platoon (1986)
    R | 2h | Drama, War | 6 February 1987 (USA)
    8.1*
(Intense emotion, really memorable for me)

    2.Saving Private Ryan (1998)
    R | 2h 49min | Drama, War | 24 July 1998 (USA)
    8.6*
(Vin Desil is in this film, took me years to find that out never recognized him in his younger year films. But he has made some great films that aren't just about muscle lol)

    3.Full Metal Jacket (1987)
    R | 1h 56min | Drama, War | 10 July 1987 (USA)
    8.3*
(Some intense emotional twists, by far the most memorable movie I have seen when I was younger like in the start of the film tied with Platoon)

    4.Schindler's List (1993)
    R | 3h 15min | Biography, Drama, History
    8.9*

Hehe small list for me those were the most memorable that I could and would watch again and again in my life time! Would have done some Images but no need, keeping this basic.

Apocalypse Now (1979) is undoubtedly my favourite war movie and one of my favourite movies in general. Set in the Vietnam war, it's effectively one long psychedelic trip into Hell. Great film.

some people believe that Star Wars WAS real, and that that George Lucas only has written down than/now only existed in a spiritual way.

I am not sure about it tbh

    other good War movies,

    Black Hawk Down - IMDb 7,7: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265086/
    Inglourious Bastards - IMDb 8,3: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361748/
    Lawrence of Arabia - IMDb 8,3: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056172/
    The Pianist - IMDb 8,5: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253474/
    Unbroken - IMDb 7,2: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1809398/

I am not really much into 'War Movies', but all of the mentioned movies are great.

@ LagunaLoire Apocalypse Now has a good story I will be trying this one for sure. @Icando Unbroken looks like it could be an interesting movie for me to try.

Great movies so far, giving me some new ideas to my collection.

@WallE good idea to check 'Unbroken' - thought it was really surprisingly good when i watched it a few years ago, even if it doesn't have the best rating on IMDb (but tbh i don't agree with most ratings there )
