Early opening weekend projections for Justice League have arrived and has it poised to fall just behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Warner Bros. is in the final stages of getting Justice League ready for launch in November. They reportedly held a test screening for the film recently, with some reactions touting it to be epic. That is surely the hope for all parties involved as WB brings Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg to the screen as a team for the first time.


Expectations are already high for the DC team-up and Wonder Woman has only further given fans the belief that the DCEU is finding its path. Still, there is a lot of pressure of Justice League to not just be a great film, but also be a box office sensation. Based on these early numbers, WB will have millions of reasons to be happy.

BoxOfficePro has revealed their early box office projections for Justice League‘s opening weekend. Based on their projections, Justice League will earn $150 million domestically in its first three days in theaters. While this is just an estimate, should Justice League come in around this number, it will be the DCEU’s second biggest opening ever, falling just behind Batman V Superman‘s $166 million opening. Furthermore, these projections would give Justice League a $330 million domestic total.


Box office tracking is always difficult to believe, as insane hype and great word of mouth can get any movie to over perform – or under perform if the buzz is negative. Just this year, Beauty and the Beast, Wonder Woman, and IT vastly outgrossed their opening weekend projections, while films like Get Out, Baby Driver, and (again) Wonder Woman had strong legs during their theatrical run.


That said, an opening weekend of $150 million would be a great haul for Justice League – even if some hope it goes well above that number and does Avengers-like numbers. For comparison, Wonder Woman‘s early projections had it at $83 million and it earned that and an additional $20 million. If Justice League receives a similar bump once the marketing blitz kicks in and (hopefully) great reviews start pouring out, than it would be shocking if it does anything less than $150 million.


Justice League‘s box office performance and the reactions are going to be topics many pay attention to as it could determine what is next for the DCEU. If Flash is a breakout character, movement on his solo movie could happen even faster so they can capitalize on his popularity – and the same could be said for Cyborg. Thankfully, there’s only a couple more months left before the film debuts so everyone can see it and get Justice League to meet or exceed these projections.
