I'm a member of several trackers but for the purpose of this post I'd like to talk about the two I use the most.
I happen to be studying the subjects these trackers provide, and I'm sure you're all familiar with them.
CGPeers - 2019
I find this tracker to be the most comprehensive, as new items are usually posted here first. Certain files could use a little updating, but that is one thing I've noticed about that community. Many who purchase a product also share the product. When I first stepped into the torrent scene after being away for many years, I grabbed what I needed and left it to leech for weeks thinking I had done my part. After a time, watching people share what they "say" they had spent with their own money share, I decided I would do the same. Many of the files I need are specific and hard to find, so I found myself purchasing 75% of what I needed. I'm not able to "fix" programs, but those that were ready to be shared I uploaded. Not to mention I discovered that filling requests was also a good way to boost ones ratio.
People are generally friendly, and as long as posted in the proper format will people help find whatever it is you're looking for. I think they provide a great service that has saved me a lot of money. When donations go up I'll send $10 their way as a thank you.
GFXPeers - 2019
Another tracker I'm sure most are familiar with. They carry virtually the same files as the aforementioned, yet every once and awhile you'll find the hidden gem. The users (leechers) seem to be more demanding than CG, but I can ignore most of that. The files are usually aptly named, and archived correctly. Those being the only two private resources I know of for programs that I need in my studies, I really can't complain. I will say this, the request section of GFX doesn't get a ton of attention which is a shame. However, when I buy something like RDTextures pack, I'll upload to CG and then to GFX if someone hasn't already. What most important in keeping these niche groups alive is new and fresh content. So I am happy to contribute when I can.
Bottom line, If you need anything CG, VFX, Photoshop, Stock Graphics Related, or Tutorial (from texturing to drawing) you'll find *almost* everything you need within these two sites, and I may as well be honest, several of my "A" grades were definitely made possible by the ease of available stock footage and professional (non-youtube) videos.
