    Whatbox.ca

So I'm a member of several private trackers, the non ratioless trackers needed of course a good ratio. I was searching for a good seedbox, that was trustable. I was new to this seedboxes thing(the best thing always is to build your own seedbox, but didn't want to put the effort on it in the holiday), but I came eventually to whatbox.ca.

What I liked was that the server were based in the Netherlands, I sort of live almost next to the servers lol.
Well the GUI is what you expect from a seedbox it has a rtorrent GUI (just like utorrent for the people who don't know rtorrent). The speed was good I achieved 40 mb/s at the download speed and the upload speed.

I had chosen for the 200gb one (15 dollars), my bad it was too low for me lol, because I download always bluray remuxes. You are also able to stream the movies with MPC-HC through url's, this saves me the time to sometimes download the file.

One of the biggest vices of whatbox.ca is that there is a upload cap. So I chose for the flex 150/150 version it had a cap of 1.5 TeraByte, I reached that number already in 2 weeks lol. I am too generous with uploading so that was really a bad thing, because after reaching the cap they decreased the speed to 5 Mbps. At other seedbox sites the caps are higher, but the price was a little higher too.

So if you have no problem to pay more to increase the transfer cap, then I recommend this seedbox because of the speed and the refresh rate of the GUI. Otherwise if you're thinking double for your money and hate the upload cap, then you should certainly look for another seedbox.

    Cheers.

Tried these guys in the past, speeds were very average and I never seen 40mbs upload speed for sure but maybe they have gotten better, had a lot of problems and I would say the server was over sold, I've also heard in the past that what.cd own this company (someone correct me if I'm wrong) which would be very stupid to use them if you were a trader or seller as they would have all your tracker pass keys.

Did you take any screenshots of your speeds as this would be a nice addition to the review?

Oh really didn't know about that man. Well the whatbox bandwith is capped, so it's almost unusable for me now :/
Is it maybe because your based a little further than where the server are based. I live exactly near where the servers are based. But I will certainly look for another seedbox in the future, this was my first and my last

A cap of 5mbs is not that bad mate, with some seedboxes you would only get this at normal speed: )

Most seedboxes that are capped are ok for the average Seedbox user as you reach these limits very quickly, it really depends who the Seedbox companies buy their servers from if the cap them or not.

It's all about the individual though, what works best for you: )

Haha well I was used for fast speeds, now it's max 600 KB/s. So that is a big difference. But i'm going to increase my fast home internet, that would be easier

But everyone, think twice and do a lot of research. An unmetered one is a plus

if you reached you cap fast like me(5 days) then you can message support and they will upgrade you to the next plan but they will deduct service days.

I had the flex $15 plan and i reached my cap at 5 days in so i msg support to add a boost of TB but all they did was upgrade my plan to the next level and left me with 15 days of service instead of 25 days. I got 1.75TB extra and instead of the 200 gig HD i got a 400 GB HD.

    I was happy with that.

They were great when they offered the unmetered plan... But now that those are done, I would suggest on getting them. I did use Whatbox seedbox for a very long time and have to say that their support was great. I also had no problems with when I did use them.

I've used other seedboxes in the past and can honestly say that most of them had problems unlike these. The only setback of Whatbox is that their bandwith is limited and so are HDD.

Their prices and speeds are great but for the HD space offered I'm sure you could find similar and most likely cheaper!

ive used whatbox on and off for a few months, service is great! i brought a 100mbit plan after about a week i relised its way to small and contacted them they happily upgraded me half way though onto the flex plan and i just paid the difference. if you want simplicity its great but in the bigger picture a 2g kimsufi dedicated server is pretty much the same price offers way more. also ive noticed a 100mbit kimsufi vs flex 150mbit whatbox the kimsufi will upload more in the same ammount of seeding time on the same torrent as the flex. has better routing by far

Yeah, I used them for a while but went back to my Feral plan. Feral seems faster, cheaper and overall better. For my purposes at least. Their site isn't as pretty though.
