Hey did you ever figure out how to get better speeds transferring down from your seedbox?

Have you looked into multi-segmented transfering via FTP or SFTP?

CuteFTP is a good FTP software for Windows
CaptainFTP or YummyFTP are good FTP software for Mac

Switching seedbox providers helped a bit, as it now downloads at a consistent rate, which it wasn't doing before. I still don't seem to be getting DL rates close to what I am capable of, though. I do use CuteFTP. I did setup the multi-segmented transferring, but the few times I have tried it I haven't seen much difference in download speeds. Plus, while those downloads are running I can't do anything else. If I try, for example, to delete a file, I am told that there are no more connections available, so I have to wait until the downloads are complete before doing anything else. Because of that I have only tried it a few times. I'm not quite sure exactly what that means. Am I only allowed 8 connections to the server, and the segmenting uses them all, or if it is some restriction in CuteFTP? I may have to play around with that a bit more. It seems pretty straight forward to setup, but maybe there are some ways to tweak it.

Also, I have recently switched to version 9 of CuteFTP, from version 8, and it acts a bit wonky now. When I drag over items, to download, it freezes up. Not completely. It continues downloading, but I cannot change directories. If I want to go into another directory I have to open another connection. This happens even when not using segmented transfers. I don't recall having a problem like this with version 8. <shrugs>

    install flashget 1.9.6
    install firefox & flashgot plugin.

navigate your http directory with firefox. right click and select "flash got all".

it should do the trick. flashget is amazing program that supports both parallel/multipart downloads.
