I just spent a couple of weeks debating on how to watch media when I drop cable.
I couldn't spend money on hardware so, I had to find something that would transcode on the fly to all my existing bits.
It was a toss up between PS3 Media Server and PLEX
I have Plex serving to four rooms.
    1.Plex Client
    2. Roku
    3.XBMC
    4.Samsung BluRay player

    Everything is working very smooth.
Now I just need some media That is how I found you guys!

I use VLC Media player for playing mkv files, because this player can play them more smoothly. For the others formats I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema as default.
