still using WMP 12 (or 11?) with CCCP
Media Player Classic Home Cinema x64
Xbmc with htc wildfire phone as remote
Media Player Classic Home Cinema + madVR
VLC all the way !
VLC!! Never gave me problems where other players did!
I just spent a couple of weeks debating on how to watch media when I drop cable.
I couldn't spend money on hardware so, I had to find something that would transcode on the fly to all my existing bits.
It was a toss up between PS3 Media Server and PLEX
I have Plex serving to four rooms.
1.Plex Client
2. Roku
3.XBMC
4.Samsung BluRay player
Everything is working very smooth.
Now I just need some media:p That is how I found you guys!
Vlc opens almost formats of video. Power DVD is the best player to play blue ray n hd videos n also it opens the videos in better quality than vlc player

I use VLC Media player for playing mkv files, because this player can play them more smoothly. For the others formats I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema as default.
