Use windows Defender because when you install thirdparty anti virus, your opening up more attack surfaces since those programs use intrusive ways to hook deep into the system and might get compromised themselves with imperfect code, as lately seen with Kaspersky and FBI incident

Avast. It has low CPU and memory consumption and doesn't slow down my PC.

i dont use anti virus software, i just know how to use the internet, the best way not get get crap on pc is have good firewall rules on router/windows and not look at crap that can infect your machine, (if you do just running a rkill or similar will solve it), i feel most virus's are built to infect people that use anti-virus software, by the companies that make the anti-virus softwares to keep them in business.

Kaspersky is the best without doubt, but I don't use it because of the obvious relations between Kaspersky labs and the particular country's special services. I'm using Avira at the moment and have no problems in the past three years.
