With all those private trackers out there, there is no need of using a public one.
Lots of pop up windows, safety concern, not so quality releases, not rare content.
Not real communities also, not the places where you can communicate with other users.
I tried to click on EzTV and I had to close 5-6 spam windows, safety notifications etc, before I could see the download link.
Being in 2015, with hundreds of private trackers, general and specialized, wandering around those crappy sites is useless.
    Waste of time.
Man, you can find the same releases on there, as you can find on other trackers. Actually on one of them I have seen a new episode of a movie uploaded faster, than to IPT.
Yes, the possibility of malware is more on those sites, but it's still worth to use them, I think

I have to warn other users, mostly new in torrent world, that such comments are totally inaccurate.
Please, don't misinform users. If you can find the same releases on public trackers, private trackers' existence would be pointless.

Last but not least, if those "trackers" are fine for you then it's... fine with me.
Nonetheless, I have to warn other users, and let them know exactly what these sites are about.
    Regards.

Ok, then let's improve what I said:
There are lots of stuff on the public trackers too, from what some are uploaded to the public trackers faster, than to the private ones. Of course there is lot of content, which is not so famous, but still good, and only available on certain private trackers. So yeah, it's worth to use the private ones, but there is lot of content, which can be found on the public ones too. Maybe the public trackers are just stealing the content from some super pre-time private ones

    Thread moved to proper section.

Public trackers are best for hackers as they usually take contents from private trackers & infect them before uploading them to public trackers. Secondly users are more likely to get malwares. Further public trackers are usually on ISP watch lists too.

At last - TI.org or any staff do not recommend to use public tracker. User discretion strongly advised.

Infect what? mkv, mp3, flac files? Common sense, do not download software from any non-official source (by the way, not from an official sorce if the software is not open source). And ISPs are not monitoring torrent traffic in most countries of the world, at least not for copyright material (maybe only for traffic shaping).

I do not disagree with your point of view but at some points you just overlooked things. Like public trackers site have many pop-up ads which usually carry malware to tracker user activities.
I don't want to discuss about hacking & code alteration as this not the place to talk about all those but if you give some time googling then you will find many things hard to believe.
All ISP keep logs (as per rule) it is just they don't care to monitor them till any authorities ask to do it, true for many ISP traffic shaping is only concern but they can find you easily if any authorities ask to it.

At Last it is not a matter of argument. All have difference of opinions, my & @RossoBreitner point was just to inform members of TI that if anyone going to use any public tracker after visiting this thread then TI will be not liable to any damage caused (if any)

    Good initiative. A few suggestions:

    - you should remove eztv and yts because they are fake (copy cat)
    - you could separate the sites by putting them into 2 columns: search engine (torrentz.eu, isohunt, bitsnoop etc.) and torrent sites (tpb, kat etc.)

Very true. But what the point of getting into risk? Further people who don't like to give back what they get are in likely to use public trackers.

I again say it is not a point of argument, I'm just trying to beware TI members. I can't force my point of view to all but I can at-least warn them. I'm not against public trackers or you mate but safety always come first.
