Pioneering WWE legend Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, who found renewed fame as a reality TV star, has died. She was 45.

Laurer, whose TV gigs included a celeb edition of NBC’s Fear Factor, VH1’s The Surreal Life as well as an episode of 3rd Rock From the Sun, was found dead Wednesday evening in her home outside Los Angeles, according to ProWrestlingSheet.com. A cause of death has not been released.

“It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero,” read a statement on Chyna’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts. “Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her.”

Laurer had been open about her long struggle with substance abuse. She even appeared on the inaugural season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008.
