No, never tried.
But i heard that if Sony caught you play a downloaded game that not original, they will ban your device and won't be able to turn it on again.

So, i think i won't try since it seems a sacrifice of my device.

But what I'm sure about that if you don't play online at all, turn off the Wi-Fi and the Lan from your PS4 forever then you can open your playstation and download every game you want for free but no online only offline.
And do not let your device smell an internet either by WiFi or Ethernet cable.
