Building Ratio on What.cd & Waffles without a Seedbox

Last year, I spent 3 solid months Ratio Building using the method below, without the use of a seedbox

    I now have:

    -On What.cd:
    Elite-Class

    -On Waffles:
    Power User-Class

While there are many many ways to increase one's ratio (uploading music, uploading ebooks, downloading freeleech, downloading staff picks, filling requests, setting up an auto-downloader (irssi, rss), etc etc).. I have found that all these methods are slow, tedious and unreliable. Using the method below is by far the best way I have found to increase my ratio on What.cd/Waffles

HOW I INCREASED MY RATIO ON WHAT.CD/WAFFLES

I uploaded NEW Software, Audio Software, Audio Samples, Tutorials (Waffles), and Music-Related Tutorials (Waffles & What.cd). Watching a predb channel (see the predb list below) and refreshing Audionews a few times a day.. I watched for NEW releases. For new (non-audio) software, I picked large releases (100mb+).. but for Audio-related torrents, I picked Scene and reputable P2P groups releases regardless of size (R2R, MAGNETRiXX, CHAOS.. etc)
I did not cross seed my releases (as cross seeding can be tricky).. instead, I set aside 2tb of hard drive space. I then extracted every finished new torrent, and uploaded the archived release to Waffles and the un-archived version to What.cd (see the What.cd rules on archived releases).
Several times a day, I checked the new releases and grabbed the new ones. By the time I got past 15-25 torrents, the process of downloading the torrent (from Audionews), un-archiving the releases (7zip), creating the new upload pages (filling the nfo, tags) and creating the torrents (using my 2 unique announce urls) and uploading the torrents (carefully re-checking every single torrent after I double-uploaded to both trackers) became a well-oiled machine.

After uploading 20-50 torrents, slowly but surely they began to accumulate leechers. Not every single torrent got users downloading, but enough. There is a major lack of New Audio Software, Audio Samples and Audio Tutorials on What.cd and Waffles. Giving users the latest software, especially for these categories is a major content filler. After passing 100 uploads, the ratio began to come in like gangbusters.
What really really helped me to gain an immense amount of buffer from this process is that half way through this 3 month process, both Waffles and What.cd had separate periods of site-wide freeleech. As I would upload software to Waffles, instead of the normal 3-4 auto-grabbing seedboxes.. 20-30 seedboxes would jump on immediately.. and the same for What.cd).

While this good fortune will probably not occur for another user using this method, there are often a few auto-grabbing seedboxes set to auto-grab any software uploaded to these 2 trackers at any given time.

After 300+ uploads over the 3 month period.. I used my home-seedbox (a 24/7 computer that I have running at my home on my 30/3 connection) to long-term seed all the uploads. I seeded these from last summer until the computer crashed a few months ago and I lost them all.. but by that time, many of the torrents have multiple seeders now. The rest are slowly being auto-deleted for having no seeders
Using this long term seeding.. I also garnered a very large Ratio Buffer on Audionews as well.

PLEASE NOTE: What.cd only allows music-related tutorials

-Remember to check thoroughly to see if the torrent your going to upload is already on the site (dupe)
-Remember to tag your releases correctly and thoroughly (so users can find them by seraching)
-Remember to exclude any serial numbers from your NFO information (s/n are not allowed)
-What.cd does NOT allow archived releases, except in the following categories:
    Comic Books (.cbr and .cbz).
Scene released torrents in non-music categories.
Sheet music may be individually archived.
    See the What.cd Rules > What.cd Rules

READ THE UPLOADING RULES ON WHAT.CD AND WAFFLES VERY VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE UPLOADING:

    https://ssl.what.cd/rules.php?p=upload
    https://www.waffles.fm/docs.php?page...ploading_Rules

There are 100's of new 0day/P2P Applications released every day, many of which are large (50mb-1gb+)

I recommend a good 'General' or '0day/General' Tracker:
    -iptorrents
    -torrentshack
    -torrentleech

    ..a good Audio Tracker:

-Audionews - Audionews is imo the best Private Torrent Tracker/Source for Audio Apps/Audio Samples/Tutorials/etc.

-TheAudioScene - TheAudioScene is another Private Torrent Tracker/Source for Audio Apps/Audio Samples/Tutorials/etc.. imo it comes in second place to Audionews.

-ProAudioTorrents - ProAudioTorrents is another Private Torrent Tracker/Source for Audio Apps/Audio Samples/Tutorials/etc.. imo it comes in third place to Audionews.

..and a good Computer Graphics Tracker:

-CGPeers - CGPeers is imo the best Private Torrent Tracker/Source for Computer Graphics Apps..

    As well as DDL Sites:

    -audioz.info - DDL site
    -proaudiozone.info - DDL site
-forum.cgpersia.com - DDL site (forum of CGPeers)
-forum.gfxdomain.net/forum.php - DDL site (forum of GFXPeers)

There a few other reliable ways to achieve ratio on What.cd & Waffles, but I haven't used them...
    -better.php > what.cd/better.php
    -what.cd/forums.php?action=search&search=irssi
    -what.cd/forums.php?action=search&search=rss

Feel free to comment on this thread with your stories of Ratio Building (and the methods you used)
Hope this helps some fellow What.cd'ers and Waffler's
