    Hey guys,
Was wondering if this happened to anyone else, I downloaded a torrent on torrentleech, i picked one with alot of leechers to jumpstart my ratio, and in my client it says hostname not found and wont start. Im using fios, i googled it and seen some people talking about changing a host file for fios users?

Can you ping the tracker from your PC? e.g. ping tracker.torrentleech.org and does it reply? If it doesn't then it would appear that its either the IP being blocked or its being DNS filtered. If its blocked then you would need to be on a VPN. If its DNS filtering try using googles DNS 8.8.8.8 rather than your ISP. If that doesn't work then either use the host file if you use windows or use encrypted DNS e.g. DNScrypt (a bit more complicated) also some antivirus programs now have this feature built in.

To edit the host file use something Notepad++ and run it as administrator
Then - file - open and paste file name c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host (or equivalent depending on the windows version)

Note the host file is a hidden system file so you won't be able to browse to it by default

add the following line to the host file - tracker.torrentleech.org 94.242.222.59
    then save it.

If the issues was DNS then when you ping tracker.torrentleech.org its should resolve to 94.242.222.59

As a side note if you are editing the host file you may want to add the MVPS Hosts list to your host file http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt

The MVPS HOSTS list includes entries for most of the major parasites, hijackers and unwanted Adware/Spyware programs! Adding this to your host file prevents your PC from ever connecting to these sites by blackholing them to 0.0.0.0
