Our host, which I will not mention for the moment, has been hosting us for 2 years.
It is enough to be a customer to have a valid email address, it is one of their assets for the tk, in the same way of course as their offshore situation, since they are obviously out of the field of action of the DMCA.
Last week, the servers were suspended, and a KYC request was made to us, which is not normal.
For those who do not know, the KYC is a request for establishing identity, you must provide an identity card, an invoice serving as proof of address and a telephone number
Of course, this is impossible for site owners, for reasons that you will easily understand…

We are therefore in contact with them in order to clarify the situation.

Currently, they have to give us access to the servers (and put them back online) while we recover the data, because we will, if that happens, change the datacenter.

There are 2 possible evolutions to the situation:

the most positive, the servers are back online, we recover our data, we work like crazy and we migrate, there will obviously be offline periods, but we come back
the least funny, we no longer have access to the server, we can't recover the data, and there we won't start from scratch, with 0 torrents and 0 members, too much work and time already spent (that's in thousands of hours just for the staff, not to mention the posts of the members who also worked to put them online, there we explode the hour quotas)
For the moment, there is nothing gained, but nothing lost either, we are in the expectation... so I know that the rumors are going well, but nothing is yet recorded, neither in a sense, nor in the other...

For those who think it was stupid not to have a backup of the database, they are right... in fact, we had planned for the case of a server crash, the database (encrypted of course, therefore not usable except by us) was backed up, but on a server from the same host that we all trusted, after 2 years… But not a suspension of the account by the host
