Unfortunately, you must go into IRC and the Help channel in order to fix your pwned account... A pwned account is different than a disabled/banned account... Be mindful tho' that they do not have the Help channel staffed 24/7, and with the different time zones and all, it is pretty much a hit-or-miss situation... Many have kept trying and eventually they've managed to get on when a staff member was available, and were able to fix their issue(s), and were able to get back into their account... You just need a bit of luck, patience, and to keep trying... Good luck...

Thanx for your post but have come back to the forum to give you an update and it's finally good news! Late last night (into the early am hours in my country) i finally succeeded in getting access to my account....not via IRC but from trying a password reset. I'd gone through the process a few times last year but never succeeded, but this time it did. However once you do a password reset you have 10 minutes in which to sort one so the clock is ticking. Many i tried came up as having been previously compromised which was very odd given i was using a combination of numbers plus a name spelt backwards unique to a foreign dialect. With minutes to spare i made a last ditch attempt using a password creator which gave me a crazy collection of letters, numbers, brackets, and underscores etc and i used that which got my account back.

I'd say you need not only luck but a LOT of patience and it's exhausting. I fully understand what you say about the help channel not being manned 24/7 and never expected it to be, but communication is extremely difficult. I've been a member for a few years now and never experienced problems like i had. Registering as a new member back then was simple but i've no idea how it is now for anyone wanting to join.
