Aireservers.com Review (AS-300)
I have been using Aire Servers.
The speeds on this server are fantastic. Upon payment and registration, you are e-mailed your username and password, FTP info, SSH, rutorrent and deluge info. There is no "web portal" for all of your info, like bytesized for example. It is NOT the most user friendly server, but that is what makes it so great. You have webUI's for rutorrent and deluge, you can do some tinkering with SFTP and allow the deluge daemon and use the desktop client, and it's just fantastic. I have 2 seedboxes, 1 on bytesized and 1 on aireservers. Both are 20 euro per month.
On bytesized, I have an upgraded gourmet box. 600GB HDD, 1GBit download and 150MBit upload. Undeterred connection (truly). Has a very in-depth wiki and web interface for new users, allows you to reboot the box and generates config files for filezilla and whatnot. It's not really that useful once you get things set up but once you're setting things up it's fantastic. They also offer VPN access through OpenVPN or whatnot, for anonymity in your day-to-day browsing, as well as VNC so you can get a visual desktop experience of your server (albeit laggy as shit!)
On aireservers, I have an AS-300 box, 300GB HDD, 1GBit download AND 1GBit upload. Unmetered connection (TRULY!!!) This server lacks the bells and whistles of bytesized, but it compensates by having AMAZING speed. No VNC, no VPN, but who cares. You can SSH into the box and use it to proxy your network, functions as well as VPN. They will be implementing this soon, I've heard. The IRC staff is super helpful, and super friendly. The same can't really be said about bytesized, in my experience - don't get me wrong, they are friendly, but hard to talk to in real time - they are all based in the EU and being in the USA I am awake while they are asleep. Staff of Aire are in the USA so they have relatively the same schedule as I do.
Here's the shocker. Bytesized and Aireservers are both seedboxese that USE THE SAME DATA-CENTER. That being, leaseweb.nl. Bytesized quickest connection is the BBQ box, it is 500mbit up and has a 5TB/month upload cap. It is the same 20eu per month as Aire, but half the speed. I know, the numbers aren't everything, the server provider is key, but THEY ARE USING THE SAME PROVIDER! And it's a ******* good one, it's based in the netherlands.
I recommend both. If you are brand spankin' new to this, and aren't going to be what.cd or other sites where quick snatching of small files is key, I highly reccomend Bytesized, specifically the gourmet box upgraded to 600GB HDD. This is 20eu a month.
If you are more experienced and can use SSH, go with Aire. 20eu a month for better speeds. They don't even have a Linux desktop, so you can't VNC in no matter what. SSH is very comprehensive though, and with some studying you can learn to work with it.
The thing about BOTH of these servers is that the connection is shared. HOWEVER, with bytesized there are 4 people per disk, so you get 1/4th of it. On aire, it's 3 per disk so you do the math....you get more of the power on Aire.
Name: AireServers
Speed: 1GBit up and down
Support: 10/10 on IRC. Wiki needs work.
GUI: 5/10 - RuTorrent and Deluge have WebUI's, there is no portal for the box.
Speed of GUI: 10/10
Package: AS-300
Price: 20eu/month
Overall rating: 9/10
So, if you need a polished UI and user-friendly seedbox, go with bytesized.
If you don't care that it's rough around the edges but just want absolute SPEED and performance, go with Aire.
If you have money for both, I highly recommend it
