Also featuring his own Bitmoji avatar

Rivers Cuomo has shared a new song called ‘Two Broken Hearts’, releasing a meme-filled video for the new track.

The quirky visual from the Weezer frontman sees a real life Rivers dance, eat and chug water while his own Bitmoji avatar flies around on balloons and travels in a gondola.

There’s also shots of Tom Cruise, Barack Obama and the famous clip of Elon Musk smoking weed during his appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast. You can listen to the song and watch the new video below.

The new song comes after the Saturday Night Live sketch which saw Leslie Jones and Matt Damon fight over the band.

In the clip, Damon plays a super fan who argues in defense of his favorite band during a dinner with his ex-wife and their new friends.

Jones argues that the band haven’t released a good album since their 1996 release ‘Pinkerton’. “Why don’t you grow the hell up and listen to Ratitude and Pacific Daydream… You just don’t understand what Rivers is going through right now,” Damon shouts. “Rivers doesn’t understand what Rivers is going through,” Jones responds. “I understand Rivers better than he understands himself!”

“Weezer died when Matt Sharp left,” Jones argues. Damon hits back, saying: “Weezer didn’t start until Scott Shriner got there.”

Last month, Weezer confirmed more details of the forthcoming ‘The Black Album’, sharing a new track called ‘Zombie Bastards’ in the process.

The new LP is expected to arrive on March 1, 2019 via Crush/Atlantic. It was produced by TV On The Radio‘s Dave Sitek and is comprised of songs written on the piano by frontman Rivers Cuomo.
