Tom DeLonge shares animation of his children’s book about a man who loses his clothes
He's a man of many talents
Tom DeLonge has released an animation of his latest children’s book, Who Here Knows Who Took My Clothes. Watch the video below.
The Angels and Airwaves frontman’s foray into children’s literature has seen the artist produce dozens of stories and picture books in the last decade, including this latest work – his second book to be animated.
DeLonge’s book, released in October 2018 and illustrated by artist Ryan Jones, has now been animated by Zach Passero with DeLonge on narrator duties. The story follows a man on a quest to find the thief who stole his clothes while he was taking a bath.
DeLonge said of the project: “Children’s books are fun because they’re similar to songwriting – they’re short pieces of poetry that rhyme.
“I thought it would be funny to write a children’s book about a man running around looking for his clothing. I actually started writing this one long before I published my first children’s book, ‘The Lonely Astronaut,’ but I wound up losing it. I was able to bring it to life again after a family member found it sitting in an old journal.
“Truth is, I never imagined that the book would’ve turned out as good as it did, but Ryan’s fun and rich artwork married perfectly with my sense of humor. Then Zach Passero and his incredible animation skills entered the picture and we wound up making something that I think is really special.”
The former Blink-182 guitarist/vocalist is also an entrepreneur. In 2015, he founded To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science, an organisation dedicated to exploring science and the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.
His last musical project was a stripped-down version of Angels and Airwaves’ ‘We Don’t Need To Whisper’, which was released in August 2017.
The musician teased new music with the band that same year, writing in an Instagram post that a new album was “in the works”.
