Britney Spears started off 2016 with a bang!

On New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), the pop star apparently ran into a pole, causing a nasty bruise on her forehead. She proved the mishap by posting a photo on Instagram. See the image below.

"Good morning 2016!" Spears captioned the pic. "Don't mind the little bruise on my forehead... Ran into a pole."

The 34-year-old singer didn’t elaborate on the events leading up to the pole incident, but one can guess she was having a pretty fun New Year’s Eve.

Let’s hope Spears has better luck in the coming year!
