David Wolff - Patrick/Redferns
Anderson .Paak performs at Zenith de Paris on March 12, 2019 in Paris, France.

Anderson .Paak stopped by CBS This Morning yesterday (May 25) to take part in their "Saturday Sessions" series, performing "Make It Better," "King James," and "Tints" as well as sitting for an interview with host Anthony Mason.

.Paak opened up about his childhood to the host, telling him, "My pops, you know, battled with drug abuse. There was domestic abuse with my mom, and I saw a lot of craziness. Then he went off to jail. I never got to really develop a relationship with him before he passed away...I think there was a part of me that didn’t want people to pay too much attention, so I was kinda just like, ‘Everything’s cool, man,’ and put a smile on."

He also discussed the inspiration behind the dot in his name, saying, "I can't do anything regular for some reason, so I put the dot and I was like, 'okay, it'll always remind me of detail and how we got to this point."

Check out the three performances as well as the interview segment below.
