Kanye West's next album will be named after a nearly 30-year-old video game console.

The artist revealed over Twitter that the album will be called "Turbo Grafx 16" after the Japanese TurboGrafx-16 home console from Hudson Soft and NEC. Another tweet from earlier in the week revealed that it's set for release sometime this summer.

The device — known as the PC Engine in Japan and parts of Europe — was the first of the 16-bit consoles. According to West it was one of his favorites as a child. His favorite game for the TurboGrafx was Blazing Lazers, which was also produced by Hudson and NEC along with Compile.

West explained that the nostalgic name comes from "some super nerd vibes" he's feeling at the moment. On that thread he went into further detail about his younger self's gaming habits. Specifically that a friend of his (mentioned on the song "Drive Slow") owned a Neo Geo. He also used to play Spy Hunter at his mother's house.

West's info dump may also be related to his own dip into game development. He recently released the first trailer for Only One: The Game. Only One, as well as the song of the same name, were inspired by his mother's passing.

It's also worth pointing out that West's latest album, The Life of Pablo, went through multiple name changes before arriving at its current title.
