Someone is selling a Threatin T-Shirt for charity on eBay
The seller was one of two people to catch the 'fake band' play live in Manchester
A Threatin T-Shirt has appeared for sale on eBay, with all proceeds going to charity.
The seller claims to be one of the two people who watched fake metal band Threatin play in Manchester after a bizarre stunt that saw Jered Threatin play a UK tour to non-existent crowds.
The listing on the T-Shirt reads: “The thing is, Tim and I (Mel) from Aonia were actually at the show in Manchester. Other than one member of the support bands, we were the only people who watched Threatin’s set were the two of us.

At the time, the Internet hadn’t lost its collective mind over the story. I felt bad for them coming so far to play to so few people, so I bought a T-shirt.”
The listing states that money form the sale will go to The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, which campaigns against hate crimes towards people from alternative subcultures. It was set up in memory of goth fan Sophie Lancaster who was murdered in 2007.
At the time of writing, the top bid is £132.
The seller also describes the gig at Rebellion Manchester, revealing the band “actually put on quite a good show”.
Last week, Threatin responded to the claims that he lied about the popularity of his band, fabricated advance ticket sales and had bought followers on social media sites.
“What is Fake News? I turned an empty room into an international headline. If you are reading this, you are part of the illusion,” Threatin wrote on Twitter.
Jon Vyner, the booking manager at Underworld told BBC Newsbeat: “They played the full show. If they’ve paid the hire fee upfront, we’re obliged to see the thing through. The most remarkable thing is that it didn’t seem to bother Threatin. He seemed quite happy to give it his all without an audience.”
