It features a sample from a classic 1985 banger

Disclosure have unveiled yet another new track from their upcoming new record – check out ‘Love Can Be So Hard’ below.

So far this summer, the electronic duo have released three tracks: ‘Ultimatum‘, ‘Moonlight‘, and ‘Where Angels Fear To Tread‘. The songs will feature on the follow-up to the brothers’ second album ‘Caracal’, which came out in 2015. In a four-star review, NME said of the LP: “‘Caracal’ is about Disclosure maturing, moving on and showing the listener how to rave respectably. This is dance music for grown-ups.”

Now, the band have offered up another slice of new sounds. ‘Love Can Be So Hard’ is a nostalgic dive into classic ’80s pop, built around an earworm vocal sample from Princess’ ‘Say I’m Your Number One’. The original track – released in 1985 – was produced by legendary hitmaking trio Stock Aitken Waterman.

Speaking of their latest release, Disclosure say: “We’re taking you on a throwback 80’s vibe with this one… inspired by our love of 80’s pop artists like Alexander O’Neil and Luther Vandross, we chopped and flipped this old classic by Princess on its head!”

Despite the new music, an earlier press release stated that there is still no new album announcement in the pipeline and that there are no live shows planned for the foreseeable future.

Howard and Guy Lawrence said earlier this year that they wouldn’t be staging their Wild Life festival in 2018 – which they had held every year since 2015 – as they intended to focus on their forthcoming third studio album.

The duo returned from their self-imposed break from music earlier this year, breaking cover with the comeback single ‘Ultimatum’.
