Koffee

Koffee's "Rapture," the title track from her debut EP, was already a firestarter on its own. But now, the rising Jamaican artist decided to dash extra fuel to the song by adding dancehall star Govana to the remix. The accompanying video -- which arrived Friday (May 31) -- highlights the pair's lyrical prowess along with some shared hometown love.

Directed by Jamaica's own 300K and Ruption, the video takes place in Spanish Town of the St. Catherine parish. Koffee and Govana feed off each other's energy as they show the unfiltered grittiness, joy and admiration of the streets they grew up on. There's also a religious undertone, as it hones in on the Book of Mormon while a helicopter shines a light on helpless locals to target.

"Give her di mic and give her four minutes/ And just listen while she flow lyrics," Govana spits on his guest verse, passing the torch to Koffee while she treks on the road to becoming the voice for this generation's reggae stars. "Koffee ah nuh coffee, mi say no gimmicks/ She a pro widdit, treat di ridddim like she grow wid it."

The "Rapture" remix follows January's "Throne" and Koffee's breakout mainstream hit "Toast," which was also featured in Jordan Peele's horror film Us. Rapture, released in March, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Check out the new video below.
