"I've been taking a lot of shit"

Cardi B has deleted her Instagram account after sharing a tirade against those who criticised her recent victory at the GRAMMYs.

This weekend saw Cardi take home the award for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, using her speech to say that she’d be sharing it with the late Mac Miller.

However, some took to social media to argue that Cardi was not deserving of the award for her album ‘Invasion Of Privacy ‘. Ariana Grande said that Miller not being honoured with a GRAMMY was ‘literal bullshit‘.

Hitting back at critics in a now-deleted Instagram video, Cardi made reference to a Tweet from the BET Awards in which they used her triumph to take a dig at Nicki Minaj.

“It’s not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else,” said Cardi of the BET Tweet, adding that she was “being dragged by her lacefront”.

She continued: “That’s not my style and that’s not what I’m with… I don’t support that.

“However, I’ve been taking a lot of shit today. I’m seeing a lot of bullshit today and I saw a lot of shit last night, and I’m sick of this shit. I work hard for my motherfucking album.”

Cardi went on: “I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed’. Now this year’s a fucking problem? My album went two-time platinum, my n****, and every chart that there was, my album was always Top 10. Number one album, as well.”

“I locked myself in the studio for three months, my n****. Didn’t go to sleep in my bed sometimes for four days straight — pregnant!” she explained. “While everybody was harassing me like, ‘You’re not gonna do it, we know you pregnant, your career’s over…’”

Cardi then shared a congratulatory message from Chance The Rapper.

“Slept in the studio on leather sofas for 3 months straight, migraines, in Atlanta in Miami away from my family,” she wrote. “I have 4 songs that couldn’t make the album cause my nose was so stuffy bro I was huffy puffy.”

She added: “I had @OFFsetyrn and @Brooklyn.johnny reaching out to the world for a verse on top of that I was depress [sic] cause everybody was suspecting I was pregnant and I constantly kept reading Cardi you ‘STUPID,’ ‘YOU RUINED YOUR CAREER,’ ‘WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A BABY AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR CAREER,’

Chance originally wrote: “This is overly deserved, the album was front-to-back hits. It would be inconceivable no to honor u last night.”

Cardi B rapper was the first solo female artist to win the award for Best Rap Album. She was nominated for another four awards but did not win any of them. Cardi also performed at the ceremony, playing her latest single ‘Money’.

Meanwhile, her husband Offset shared footage of her giving birth to announce the release date of his new solo album.
