Before teh 60s, doowap beats, such happy music no wonder there was less wars and violence. Music created happiness and sadness. Plus anger :) Evil but such an amazing invention to society when used properly!

I think 1991 till 2000 was the best time for music as there were some amazing bands like backstreet boys, micheal jackson were on the peak.
I like the 80s more for the variety in artists. The 90s were into dance. At the turn of the millenium, it's about noise. :flute:
If we talk about Russian music, then in my opinion at 90 it was as original as possible. First of all, I mean the generation of the TaMtAm club.

Best decade for music to me actually spans two.1993-2002 was the absolute best era for music. Metal was everywhere and almost all of it was amazing.
Agreed!! Without a doubt that's when the best music was made!! I'm gonna take a guess that you're a metalhead? That was pretty much all that was popular then. I live and breath the nu-metal scene, and still jam it today!! ( there's no emoji here lol but horns up)
Hard to go past the early 2000's
80's is the best
Hard toss up between the 70s and 80s. And I don't just mean the records and the bands. But the innovations of creativity that came out of those decades are pretty unparalleled vs. later. The things that artists were doing with analog synths to pioneer new waves of electronic music, the pioneering of hip hop, sample recorders and playback, the way Eddie Van Halen completely revolutionized the guitar. I mean, there's obviously a lot of strides that have come in decades since then, but not in the same degree and capacity. People really don't understand just what a debt of gratitude they owe to guys like Gary Numen, the NYC hip hop community, EVH, and so many others.
For is 90s. At that time I was teenager.

Whist 90s music was great, the 80s was even better!
There is something specific and different in the 90s, i cant point my finger to it but those years are just weird and have created many good staff, not just music
