Total newbee question that maybe someone can help me with

When popular tv shows are uploaded on any tracker I've noticed that the minute there uploaded they already have many leechers

My question is do these people have there seedboxes set up to automatically download these popular torrents, or is this even possible

I'm using rutorrent webUI on my seedbox
