Zyxel Networks announced today that Avira OEM, part of NortonLifeLock company, has made the cloud-based sandbox API available.

In this context, Zyxel has included Avira OEM's innovative cloud-based sandbox technology solution in its firewall ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) series. This integration offers companies using the Zyxel ATP series even higher threat detection rates to prevent unknown threats, resulting in reduced response times.

According to Zyxel's threat intelligence lab, around 100 million unknown threats are detected each year. 70% of these threats are hidden in PDF or ZIP files that they can easily target employees or network users. Rising risks make it more important than ever to make available to as many businesses as possible a solution that helps protect them from zero-day and other unknown attacks. This is exactly the purpose of the Zyxel and Avira OEM Cloud Sandbox service integration.

With support for sandbox technology, firewalls can automatically trap potentially malicious files in a secure and confined environment (sandbox) where they can be tested for risk before they pass through the firewall.

Thanks to this product integration, Zyxel continues its customer-oriented approach with an all-in-one security solution designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses.
