NVIDIA has just announced their upcoming GeForce Gaming Celebration event which will take place on 20th August in Cologne, Germany, at Gamescom 2018. This event will be focused primarily towards the gaming audience and what best way for NVIDIA to announce their next-generation GeForce graphics cards than to do it at a premier gaming event like Gamescom 2018.

NVIDIA To Announce Next-Generation GeForce 11 Series Graphics Cards at Gamescom 2018 – GeForce Gaming Celebration Event Announced For 20th August

We have heard many rumors that point towards August as the announcement date of NVIDIA’s next-generation GeForce graphics cards. Well, the rumors seem very credible now as NVIDIA has themselves announced to hold a huge event ‘GeForce Celebration Event’ which will take place on 20th August at Gamescom 2018.

Following is the full press release by NVIDIA:

The world’s biggest gaming expo, Gamescom 2018, runs August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany. And GeForce will loom large there — at our Gamescom booth, Hall 10.1, Booth E-072; at our partners’ booths, powering the latest PC games; and at our own off-site GeForce Gaming Celebration that starts the day before.

We’re keeping this a secret for now, but we’ll give you all of the details once we get closer to the event. Stay tuned to your inbox and GeForce.com for further info!

As expected, NVIDIA is doing their own event for the GeForce gaming graphics card lineup which will take place during Gamescom 2018. NVIDIA is promising new and exclusive game demos, on-stage presentations and also, some spectacular surprises during the event. We can think of no other surprise than a full-on announcement of their next-generation graphics cards which have taken too long to launch and would be finally unveiling to gamers around the globe.

This Gamescom event seems to be following the same pattern which we heard last week from a different source who mentioned similar launch timeframes for the next-generation GeForce 11 series graphics card. Do note that the naming convention has still not been confirmed but most leaks/rumors have been pointing to GeForce 11 series rather than GeForce 20 series. Following were the launch dates mentioned in the previous rumor:

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 (30th August Release Date)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180+ (30th September Release Date)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1170 (30th September Release Date)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1160 (30th October Release Date)

Furthermore, we have also seen new details starting to emerge regarding the next-generation NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards as a new PCB prototype was just discovered a few weeks ago, featuring Micron’s high-performance GDDR6 memory and a beefy power management system which is required for internal testing for unreleased graphics cards and graphics boards.
