There have been quite a lot of "Intel is Dead" News lately. AMD will offer up to 16 core mainstream CPUs soon (well 800$ isn't cheap for 16 cores). Intel simply can't beat AMD this year and probably next year too - also AMD's Zen3 CPUs are coming in 2020 already. Eventually the Point of Time when AMD will "ryze" above Intel the first time. However Intel still has the fastest Single Core CPU, it's just the qustion if it really mattes in times when 16 cores will soon be "Standard".

The good Thing is that this fight for the leading Position will lead to a lot of cheaper and/or better CPUs. AMDs new Ryzen 9 3950 with 16 Cores will be 1000$ less tan a comparble Intel CPU whcih also has 30% less multicore power.
