Since a I care much about effective protection and the weight of the suite on system resources, i would go for Norton. I have been using it since 2009 with no issues. Also Bitdefender is doing a great job in test labs in 2013 so you might want to check that as well
My favourite is Kaspersky..

I have norton.. Never tried the others.
I´m using Bitdefender and it has tons of options for customization which are also really easy to use. It also doesn´t eat up alot of ressources.
Microsoft MSE. cant go past it.

With my experience Avira and kaspersky is the best out there .. all the others not so much
I am using Avast but I'm not sure about that it's the best. It's just quite simple.
Avast is Best.
I try them all
for now i think Norton and BItdefender are the best
