I used AVG for the longest time on my kids machine, but recently switched to McAfee Internet Security blah blah blah (the name is ridiculous), because I got a free license from work.

As for my personal machine, I honestly don't run AV actively (gasp!), though I do use Little Snitch (so I know what's trying to phone home and where home is). If I download something I think might be nasty, I'll download it in a sandbox VM and run AVG against it first.

I think not the bests the "All-Starts" antivirus.
I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Kerish Doctor and HitmanPro.

Kaspersky, but my best protection is disabling JS in Chrome with great JavaScript Switcher plugin and not using cracks or any executables from untrusted sources, or using it in sandbox.

Kaspersky by far, but it consumes A LOT.

Currently I'm happy with Avast free version even if maybe it's not the best, but I prefer to switch on the brain before doing something stupid
