Personally I can still play old games and love them if the gameplay is good. The graphics I can get over for engaging storyline or good multi-player. I still love half-life even though by today's graphics its behind.
I'd like a balance between the two since I've found myself unable to play very old graphically dated games(most of the stuff that is pre 2000, although there are few exceptions) also if a game is so freaking beautiful graphically but offer no gameplay that is worth playing then it has no use to me, that being said balance is the best for me. also in my opinion games are way more complicated than that, its not only mainly made of graphics and gameplay mechanics but also the story, the soundtrack, the atmosphere and all that good stuff that are equally important but people always forget to mention them.

I think gameplay is more important than graphics in gaming, but i don't like to use resolutions below 800x600 as it gets too blocky.
Actually i give more weight to gameplay.
graphics are definitely important but poor gameplay makes the value of graphics priceless
lol
gameplay is much important.
i think both
without graphic game is suck, without gameplay mean boring
but if you give me only one option i choose graphic
At first, I go with graphics for the eyecandy and to explore the virtual world, but after awhile, without good gameplay, it's just not as fun. Also depends on the type of game as well.
As i get older i care less for graphic. I still have my dreamcast pluged in
gameplay ...
but of course i need good graphic, but not necessarily
i still like ninja shadow of the darkness (ps1) up until now
