The first official trailer for the upcoming thriller Gone in the Night sees actress Winona Ryder as the horror film’s nail-biting lead. Ryder is no stranger to the horror genre, as the actress’s name graced the cast list for hit films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Black Swan over her decades-long famed acting career. More recently, Ryder has starred as Joyce Byers in the explosive Netflix series Stranger Things, which is currently in the middle of its highly speculated fourth season.

Now, Vertical Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for their upcoming thriller film that stars Ryder, Gone in the Night. The hair-raising trailer sees Ryder and her boyfriend (John Gallagher Jr.) unwillingly vacationing with a strange couple after a solitary cabin in the woods was mysteriously double booked. After a fun evening of playing games, Ryder wakes up to a missing boyfriend and a litany of unanswered questions. Check out the full trailer below:


The first Gone in the Night trailer dives head first into the film’s unpredictable twists and turns while showcasing that people will do whatever it takes to get what they want, no matter the cost. The strange and mysterious couple is portrayed by Owen Teague and Brianne Tju, with Dermot Mulroney also among the cast. The upcoming thriller film was directed by Eli Horowitz, who also co-wrote the script with Matthew Derby. Gone in the Night will hit theaters on July 15 and will be available in Digital and On-Demand formats on August 2.
