Director Patty Jenkins weighs in on whether Wonder Woman 1984 will feature Diana's Invisible Jet. As the sequel to 2017's massively successful film, Wonder Woman 1984 will switch things up and jump decades past WWI. It will explore Diana's life in the 1980s, as she goes up against Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). Wonder Woman 1984 also features the return of Diana's first love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). However, as the character sacrifices himself during Wonder Woman's emotional conclusion, most assumed his time in the DC Extended Universe was over.

The first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 dropped in December 2019, offering the opportunity to dissect every second of the new footage, including Brother Eye, Wonder Woman's Golden Eagle armor, and possibly her Invisible Jet. One shot from the trailer in particular showed Steve and Diana riding in something that looked a lot like the famous plane from the comics. It would certainly jive with comments Jenkins has made about the Jet. Even before Wonder Woman's release, the director said it was likely sequels would include it, saying, "Ultimately we have to have the Invisible Jet."

In an interview with Screen Rant, Jenkins responded to a question about whether the Invisible Jet makes an appearance in Wonder Woman 1984. She said, "Can't discuss. Yeah. Can't discuss anything that is or is not. Yeah. People are so interested in it. I would not say yes or no either way." Despite not confirming its appearance in the film, Jenkins did share how she might approach the Invisible Jet if she did use it:

It's an especially good call now, considering many plot details have been revealed due to the film's delay. Superhero films are especially careful about keeping surprises close to the chest, considering the source material has been around for so long. It's disappointing merchandise intended to release after the film has already made its way out into the world. However, at least some aspects of film, including the use of the Invisible Jet, remain a surprise.

Unfortunately, it's hard to know if that will be the case by the time Wonder Woman 1984 releases. There's still quite a bit of time until the film's planned October debut, and a lot more could be revealed by then. It's also worth noting the movie could face further delays, depending on both the status of the pandemic and how moviegoers react to the release of Tenet and other films in the next few weeks. Hopefully, a few secrets remain when Wonder Woman 1984 finally lands in theaters.
