Adam Driver, Robert De Niro, and a handful of other stars are in talks for Ridley Scott’s Gucci movie with Lady Gaga. Director Ridley Scott will dive back into the crime genre by telling the story of Maurizio Gucci, the Italian businessman and former head of the Gucci fashion house, who was murdered outside his office in 1995. Based on the book The House of Gucci, it will star singer/actress Lady Gaga, who will play Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Gucci, who was convicted of planning his murder after he had an affair. The intriguing project is currently aiming for a November 2021 theatrical release after being acquired by MGM, and now, it’s reportedly looking to add an all-star cast to the movie.

According to a report from Deadline, they “are hearing that Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney all are in talks to join MGM’s Gucci.” Of course, if Driver signs on to Gucci, this would make it back to back collaborations with Scott, as he is currently involved in the director’s period movie The Last Duel.

If this does end up being the cast for the Gucci crime story, it will most certainly be one to look forward to as it not only brings together an immensely talented cast to an already engaging concept but also puts them with a legendary director and an Oscar nominee in Gaga. This could potentially be a quick reunion for De Niro and Pacino, who starred in last year’s crime-drama, The Irishman. It will also be interesting to see who would be cast opposite Gaga in the role of Maurizio Gucci. Fans will have to wait and see if some or all of the names do officially sign on for the movie. However, if Scott’s movie does land this all-star cast, Gucci will undoubtedly be looked at as a potential award-winning project.
