FireShot Capture 1177 - Spider-Man_ Sony Creates Real Daily B_ - https___screenrant.com_spiderma.jpg
In honor of the Spider-Man: Far From Home release, Sony creates a real website for The Daily Bugle featuring more J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons). In the shocking Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credits scenes, Simmons appeared as a new version of Daily Bugle journalist Jameson, after playing the newspaper editor in all three of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies in the early 00s. Appearing as a web-based political pundit getting mainstream attention for his report on the identity of Spider-Man - in a plot orchestrated by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in the event of his death - Jameson outed Peter Parker as Spider-Man.
This Spider-Man credits scene set the stage for a third solo movie starring Tom Holland's Peter Parker, one in which his secret identity as the wall-crawler is known to the world. However, since the release of Far From Home, Sony and Marvel split over Spider-Man, making it unclear what exactly the third movie in this franchise will entail without any MCU connections. While that remains to be seen, Sony is currently focused on promoting the home release of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
In a new promotional stunt for the Spider-Man: Far From Home Digital, DVD and Blu-ray release, Sony created a working website for The Daily Bugle.net, featuring Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson himself. See a new clip for the website below.
More to come...
Spider-Man: Far From Home is now available on Digital and arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 1.
