Marvel Studios has yet to announce that Avengers 5 is coming, but here are some clues about what it could feature based on Avengers: Endgame's ending. While the primary goal of the most recent entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was closing the Infinity Saga, the movie also subtly set up seeds for future films to explore. The death of Iron Man will be one of the more unavoidable and will directly factor into Spider-Man: Far From Home's story, and there are plenty of other new directions for the MCU to go from there.
The majority of these teases pertain to upcoming solo films, such as Black Widow definitely being a prequel now or that Thor is primed to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, several moments and story points in Avengers: Endgame could point to the longterm future of the MCU and even what could happen in Avengers 5.
In Screen Rant's latest video (which is featured at the top of this post), we take a look at 25 clues about the MCU's future and specifically the next Avengers film that come from Avengers: Endgame. A more cosmic approach, a very different roster, and a new base of operations are just a few of the clues we discuss, so check out the video above for more.
One aspect of the Avengers that is very clear after Avengers: Endgame is that a more diverse lineup is coming next. Fans could see Captain Marvel become the face of the franchise and the team, with Black Panther, Falcon as Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, and Wasp joining her. Meanwhile, the setup for the Young Avengers and A-Force could be a sign that there will be multiple superteams in the MCU's future. With the roster notably without Iron Man, Steve Rogers, Black Widow, likely Hawkeye, and possibly even Hulk and Thor, it is unclear if the "Avengers" is even a thing now.
Whatever the new team looks like or is called, fans have also wondered if they will have a team base. In Endgame, 2014 Thanos destroyed Avengers HQ, so the team could set up shop in Wakanda for added protection and advanced technology or go to space to signify their broader focus now. If Captain Marvel is the one leading the MCU moving forward, her vast abilities will give storytellers plenty of opportunities for her to bridge the cosmic and Earth sides of the shared universe together for Avengers 5 in a few years.
