Ron Perlman would really rather not don the Hellboy getup again, but that doesn't mean he won't.
/Film reports Perlman has been pushing studios to make Hellboy 3, and explained why after a Television Critics Association panel for his new series Hand of God. He says there's a sense of obligation behind it, even if he doesn't enjoy the experience.
"Let me make the record clear," he said. "I don’t want to do Hellboy 3. It’s a pain in the ass to put that makeup on and take it off. But I feel we’re obligated to finish the story. That’s it. End of conversation."
He went on to explain why he's been so vocal, saying he's trying to force the conversation around it. "We’re in the business of moving mountains. Those of us who are used to working in mainstream film and television," he said. "Don’t come to me with details and problems. Just tell me how we move the mountain."
Why Is Hellboy Cool?

But, he knows he's only getting older. He said he's willing to put on the makeup up to the point the studio would have to shoot him in a wheelchair. "I guess the only cutoff point is when they actually close the box. If you don’t see me get up and go, ‘Hang on, I was kidding,’ then I’m still ready."
Perlman has been suggesting a sequel since 2013, and most recently drummed up hype just before Comic-Con. His persistence doesn't necessarily mean a sequel is happening, however. Director Guillermo del Toro has said he asked "basically every studio" for financing, and came up short.
