Never ones to creep forward, Netflix have been making another set of big moves to conquer more TV fields of late, including hatching a deal with Grey's Anatomy and Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes that effectively poaches her from US network ABC for a big collaboration. And the company is also working with another powerhouse US telly name, as sitcom producer Chuck Lorre has Alan Arkin and Michael Douglas starring in his new comedy series for the streaming service.
Currently known as The Kominsky Method, the show will see Douglas as an actor who found fame briefly years ago but spends his time these days as a respected Hollywood acting coach. As for Arkin, he'll play one of his best friends, and the man who happens to be his agent. The series marks Douglas' return to a regular role in TV since The Streets Of San Francisco in the 1970s. As for Arkin, he last showed up on 100 Centre Street in 2001.
Lorre, the man behind shows such as The Big Bang Theory and Mom, already has one show set up at Netflix, with Kathy Bates-starrer Disjointed on the way on 25 August.
