Arnold Schwarzenegger used a famous line from Terminator 2 to urge people to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The coronavirus pandemic continues to rage over a year after its discovery, disrupting many industries. The film and television industry was hit particularly hard and it's not letting up anytime soon, with studios expected to delay a slew of films set for release in early 2021.
Now that two vaccines have begun rolling out in the United States and around the world, many celebrities have been using their public prominence to urge people to get the vaccine if they can. They have also posted pictures of themselves receiving the vaccine and posts describing the experience to assuage fears of the vaccine. Ian McKellen received the vaccine in the UK along with many other celebrities that have opened up about the process.
Schwarzenegger is just the latest celebrity to post about getting the vaccine. The actor and former California governor posted a video to his Twitter account in which he gets the vaccine at Dodger Stadium. In the tweet, Schwarzenegger urges others to get the vaccine if they can, saying he's never been happier to wait for something before. He finishes the post with the iconic Terminator 2 line, "Come with me if you want to live."

Schwarzenegger has been outspoken about the pandemic and politics as of late. His time as governor of California may have ended in 2011, but the actor has stayed vocal about his home state. California has been hit especially hard the pandemic in the last few months, with the Los Angeles area in particular facing an exorbitant amount of cases. Television and film productions in the area were asked to shut down again to prevent the spread of the virus.
This isn't the first time Schwarzenegger has used one of his iconic roles in a political statement. In addressing the attempted coup at the US capitol, Schwarzenegger evoked his iconic Conan the Barbarian character in talking about the strength of democracy. As the vaccine rollout continues across the country, many are wondering when and if they will get the vaccine. Some are spreading misinformation about the vaccine, stoking fears that not enough of the population will get vaccinated to achieve herd immunity and return society to some sense of normalcy at some point this year. While it may be hard to convince everyone to get the vaccine, Terminator 2 may or may not be the solution, but Schwarzenegger is a unique position to promote the safe implementation of the vaccine.
