In a Q&A with New York Film Academy, Kevin Feige confirms that Scarlet Witch is the most powerful hero currently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Elizabeth Olsen, Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximoff, joined the MCU in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She is the sister of Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose character died at the end of the film. They were both experimented on by Baron Strucker, which gave them their abilities. After Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda Maximoff became a member of the Avengers, appearing in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. She is also reported to be starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The character will continue to be a big part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios announced a new television series to air exclusively on Disney+, starring Olsen as Wanda, with Paul Bettany returning as Vision. The series will be called WandaVision and will premiere in Spring 2021. It's unclear exactly how Vision will return, as he was killed in Avengers: Infinity War in an attempt to destroy one of the stones and stop Thanos. This news came alongside the announcement of other Marvel TV series Loki, Hawkeye, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is currently in production.

The panel, hosted by New York Film Academy, included a question-and-answer section with the audience. One audience member asked Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, who the "strongest Marvel hero" is, as of Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Far From Home. In answer Feige said, “If you look at Endgame, Wanda Maximoff was going to kill Thanos. If he hadn’t desperately — that’s as scared as I’ve ever seen Thanos. And if he hadn’t said, ‘Decimate my entire team to get her off of me,’ I think she would’ve done it.” It was clearly the answer the fan wanted.

Feige has shared similar thoughts before, like at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, when he stated that Wanda could defeat Thanos one-on-one. Scarlet Witch has shown herself to be a formidable hero, particularly in her fights with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but we still haven't seen the full extent of what she can do. Up until now, it seemed that Captain Marvel was the most powerful hero, but Feige's new comments say otherwise.

There are plenty of theories about Wanda Maximoff's role in Doctor Strange's movie and what could come of it. With the potential power to manipulate reality, she could do anything, including bring her brother, Quicksilver, back to life. With a release date of May 7, 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is sure to be coming out around the end of WandaVision, and the plots will be heavily interconnected. At Comic-Con 2019, it was confirmed that going forward, the movies and television series will affect each other in ways we've never seen. With Scarlet Witch's upcoming show and role in the Doctor Strange sequel, the story is likely to focus on Wanda Maximoff exploring her abilities more. Alongside Wanda, fans will discover just how powerful she really is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
