******** can exclusively present a first look at the trailer for On the Line, an upcoming thriller starring Mel Gibson. Premiering in theaters on November 4, as well as on digital and On Demand, the tense film follows radio host Elvis (Gibson) as he is confronted with a hostile caller bearing a grudge that's shrouded in mystery. Despite not knowing who the caller is or exactly what he wants, Elvis must pull out all the stops to prevent a terrible tragedy from happening to his family and at his station.
On the Line is French filmmaker Romuald Boulanger's second feature-length film after 2020's Connectés. He wrote and directed the film, which also stars William Moseley, Alia Seror-O’Neill, Paul Spera, Nadia Farés, Enrique Arce, and Kevin Dillon. Check out Screen Rant's first look at the trailer below:
The trailer for On the Line starts innocently enough, with Elvis asking listeners (and viewers) to settle in and relax. As he responds to calls and doles out advice, a new caller named "Gary" claims he is about to do something really screwed up. Elvis remains calm as he asks where Gary is, but the tension mounts when it's revealed that the caller is at a "not very nice" stranger's house and plans to take out his family. Gibson's Elvis, his coworkers, and of course the audience are filled with dread when the ultimate bomb is dropped: it is Elvis' home and family who are in danger—and the entire station is next.
Get a Closer Look at On the Line Key Art
Mel Gibson is front and center in the key art for On the Line, emphasizing that the fate of Elvis' family rests on his head—and, more importantly, on his voice. It is up to him to play by the rules of Gary's deadly game, or otherwise outsmart him, to ensure his loved ones make it out safe and sound. Though the trailer makes it clear that a large chunk of the action will take place while "on the line," there are also some literal action set pieces in store for Gibson and his costars in the second half of the film, inevitably leading to a vicious showdown once the caller's true identity is discovered.
On the Line is being distributed by Saban Films, which has already amassed an impressive collection of thrillers and horror films in the last few years. Recent releases include Agent Game, another Mel Gibson-starring thriller, and The Aviary, a chilling adventure with Malin Akerman. They don't skimp on comedies either, however, with Josh Duhamel's Buddy Games and Kevin Smith's beloved Jay and Silent Bob Reboot under their belt. Their newest thriller is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, even when most of the action takes place On the Line.
On the Line will be released in theaters, digital and On Demand on November 4.
