One character from Fox's X-Men movies needs to appear in the MCU. Because of the multiverse, it's no longer implausible for characters from different Marvel franchises to cross into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Theoretically, any hero or villain from the X-Men films has a chance at a cameo or even a significant role in an upcoming MCU movie or show.

As things stand, one of Fox's X-Men characters has already been adapted to the MCU, with at least two more slated to follow in the years to come. Patrick Stewart's Professor X appeared as a member of Earth-838's Illuminati team in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In Phase 6, Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth will officially join the MCU in Deadpool 3, where he'll be joined by Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. So by the end of the Multiverse Saga, at least three X-Men heroes from Fox's X-Men franchise will exist in MCU canon. And they may not be alone. It's not outside the realm of possibility that other familiar faces from Fox's movies are hiding in the MCU's upcoming projects.

Anya Taylor-Joy Was Perfectly Cast As Magik

One hero who should be at the forefront of any discussion of an additional X-Men character showing up in the Multiverse Saga is Anya Taylor-Joy's Illyana Rasputin a.k.a. Magik. Her first and only movie, The New Mutants, was not well-received, but one part of the movie that certainly did work was Taylor-Joy's casting. The actress' look perfectly captured what fans expect of a live-action Magik. While New Mutants' shortcomings keep it from being a great indicator of Magik's big-screen potential, Taylor-Joy's work in projects such as The Menu and Queen's Gambit are proof of what she could bring to the table if she were to portray the character in a proper MCU movie.

Marvel's Multiverse Saga Is Perfect For Bringing Magik Back

Marvel naturally has well over a dozen Fox characters it could use in a future MCU movie, but of the ones that haven't been brought back yet, Magik feels like the best choice. In contrast to fan favorites like Iceman, Cyclops, and Storm, Magik actually has an obvious link to the central theme of the Multiverse Saga. In the comic books, Magik can use her mutant abilities to travel to different worlds through a place called the Limbo dimension. For that reason, Marvel can move Magik to Earth-616 in a way that won't seem as if she's being shoehorned into the MCU. Instead, it would feel like an organic move for the character.

If Magik were to enter the MCU via the multiverse, there are multiple opportunities where Marvel could make it happen. Perhaps the earliest chance will come in Loki season 2. The combination of magic and mutliversal elements would make Taylor-Joy's character a seamless fit. Another movie with the potential to include her is Deadpool 3. Since it's an MCU film that involves two Fox characters, multiverse travel may be part of the story. If so, Magik could come along for the ride. Regardless of how it works, getting Magik into the MCU would save a perfect casting choice from being completely wasted.
