The new trailer for the Disney+ adaptation of R.L. Stine’s Just Beyond teases fright and fun for the whole family. Stine, famed children’s horror author, has been writing spine-chilling tales for young readers for over 3 decades. Recently, his stories have reached a whole new generation: Stine’s Fear Street books inspired the Netflix trilogy, and Disney+ greenlit comedy-horror series, Just Beyond, which is based on the 4-volume graphic novel anthology Stine wrote for BOOM! Studios.
Ahead of Just Beyond's upcoming October premiere date, Disney+ has released the official trailer for the series, giving a sneak peek of the thrills and chills viewers can expect. With a jarringly upbeat version of “Anything Goes” from the Cole Porter musical playing in the background, the trailer promises “twists and turns” and “fantasies and nightmares” as it reveals creepy snippets from Just Beyond’s 8 unique stories, including Mckenna Grace (The Handmaid’s Tale) navigating a new school with dark secrets and Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere) encountering spirits in a haunted theater. Check out the trailer below:
The trailer also offers glimpses of impressive special effects and a star-studded adult cast, including Henry Thomas (Midnight Mass), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out), and Nasim Pedrad (Aladdin). In addition to Grace and Underwood, the younger stars of the series include Claire Andres, Cedric Joe, Megan Stott, Rachel Marsh, and Gabriel Bateman. Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie) penned all 8 episodes of Just Beyond. The series’ directors include Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), Anna Mastro (The Bold Type), Ryan Zaragoza (All-American), and David Katzenberg (Riverdale). Just Beyond will premiere on Disney+ on October 13, just in time for the Halloween season.
